Andrea Karpenski
Yoga Teacher, RYT-200,
Yin certified .
I have lived in the St. Croix Valley my entire life. A long time lover of nature, wildlife, hiking, water activities, basically anything outdoors. I’ve always known a long hike or spending time on the water is the best way to soothe my soul. I have a deep appreciation for the area we live in.
My yoga story is a little bit different. Although I had taken yoga classes sporadically all of my adult life, I had never really understood what the fuss was about. In 2020, I fell in love with Yoga …….on a Paddleboard! There was something about being flat on my back, floating on the water submersed in nature after a beautiful yoga practice.. Suddenly, everything just clicked. Combining nature with the practice of yoga had amplified the soul-soothing calmness, and peace I believe we are all seeking on some level. I had finally actualized the true purpose of yoga and it is not about stretching and flexibility.
It was then I decided to dig a little deeper into yoga, and I took up a membership at a local yoga studio. It was there I discovered the true healing properties of Yoga. And how little our culture truly knows about yoga practice and it’s philosophies. This eventually led me to the decision to complete a yoga teacher training course.
I have worked in nursing my entire adult life. I have been an RN for 24 of those years, and I still practice under this license. Although I was well suited for this career, it was disheartening as I came to realize a lot of the flaws in our Healthcare Industry.
I’ve always been a fan of Natural Remedies, holistic practices, environmental awareness, and self healing. I have been a healer my whole life, and I will always be. My passion is to share the many benefits of Yoga to the St. Croix Valley area. Combining my nursing background with my newly found skills as a yoga guide, My goal is to provide students opportunities to soothe their own mind, body and soul, and to present opportunities to ignite their sense of adventure!
I offer yoga classes in a studio setting on a regular basis. I also bring Chair Yoga to the community. In the summer, I offer a sprinkling of outdoor yoga sessions. I also have year-round yoga hikes, workshops, and other adventures planned for the years to come! Whether you are new to yoga or a long time yogi, I fully invite you to join any of the offerings available throughout the year. There is no end to the opportunities to bring Yoga and Nature together and share these discoveries as a Community. I look forward to sharing them with you soon!
